Overall meaning : Allah, Exalted be He, mentions that He sent to the tribe of Midian their brother Shu’ayb to call them to worship Allah alone and give up the worship of others. 'My people,’ he said to them, 'worship Allah alone. You have no other god worthy of worship other than Him. Clear evidence proving the truth of I have brought has now come to you. Therefore, give full measure and just weight, do not defraud and cheat people out of their rights and do not corrupt the land with unbelief, acts of disobedience and injustice after Allah has purged it of evil by sending messengers and commanding justice. All this is for your own good and will be better for you if you are true believers. Do not lurk on every road, threatening people with death or torture if they do not hand over their property to you, turning away from faith those who believe in Him and preventing them from following His prophet, and seeking to make Allah’s path appear crooked. Remember when you were few in number and He multiplied you, and consider the fate of the evildoers. If there are some among you who believe in what Allah has sent me with and some who do not believe, then just wait patiently until Allah judges between us; He is the best of judges.’
